This weekend will be the first known Easter celebration in a Kurdish city in Turkey. As Christians, the resurrection of our Lord is the most important holiday on our calendar, and we hope that its significance will be shown to the residents of this city. The new church in the city is working to host a Resurrection Celebration this coming Sunday afternoon. They have reserved a reception hall, and plan to have food, games and crafts for children, a short video, as well as a brief explanation of the resurrection holiday for guests. Pray that the gospel will be clearly presented and that many people will trust in Christ as their savior.

At the same time the goal is to encourage the local believers to invite friends and family to this event. Many are often fearful of social and familial pressure, but our desire in this event is to provide a friendly and inviting atmosphere where the church can interact with some of the friends and family of the local brothers and sisters. Pray that those that come will not cause problems for the local believers.
