A local Kurdish friend who is confessing faith owns a cafe, which we visit from time to time. During one visit, he and his business partner asked us if we would be willing to start an English club in their cafe. They would invite friends and others that they are connected with, and we would just have to come and talk with them in English.
Our friend told us that he wants this to be an opportunity for us to tell other people about Jesus and for them to see “clean” people. We couldn’t pass up that opportunity so we agreed to come.
In two weeks, the Lord has given the opportunity to share the gospel with four different local men (two of whom happen to be Kurdish) and two women (one of whom is Kurdish).
Most likely, we would have never encountered these individuals in our normal, everyday life. We gave a New Testament to one of the Kurdish men.
We are thankful for this opportunity that the Lord has given us! Please pray for Sedat (who confesses faith in Christ and is Kurdish), for his fiancé Ilhan (that she would believe), and his business partner Mehmetcan (who is Kurdish, not a Muslim, and is open to hearing from us).
