For generations the Kurds have lived in the shadows of the Arabs, Persians, and Turks. Whether the result of ministry decisions or political sensitivities, Christian workers have rarely engaged the Kurds with the gospel in their heart language. As a result, only a miniscule number of Kurds have ever heard the gospel in Kurdish. But by God’s grace, that is changing in multiple locations.
Technology and political changes have opened doors for an historic opportunity to provide access to the gospel for millions of Kurmanji Kurds. In December 2013 an evangelistic web site, Mizginiya Kurdi, was launched in Kurmanji Kurdish. Advertisements are being placed on the internet and plans are being made to place ads in local newspapers as well. A network of local believers will follow up on those who respond, further sharing the gospel and discipling new believers.
Please join us in praying for this project:
1. That God will bring more mature Kurmanji Kurdish believers to help with the project.
2. That many Kurds will see the ads, visit the web site, engage with the gospel, and be saved.
3. That new materials will be developed quickly and effectively communicate the gospel.
4. That God will provide financial resources, particularly for more comprehensive advertising.
