A friend in America connected me with the sister of a Kurdish lady she visits with in Nashville. Sarah asked us to visit her, so a teammate and I were able to go to her house and visit with her.
While we were there, Jean* expressed how she dealt with the fear of darkness. I then shared with her my testimony of how I struggled with the fear of darkness as a young girl but was freed from that fear through Jesus Christ. Sharing with her how Christ had become the Light in my life, I told her how I do not fear the dark anymore. We discussed how she could receive this freedom as well through accepting Christ’s love for her and His sacrifice for her.
After our women’s church planting forum, I began preparing my own testimonies and Bible stories around themes that people talk a lot about when I go on visits (themes such as fear, bitterness, loss, death, comparison, jealousy, disobedience, parenting, etc.). It was an idea that was sparked by a session from the forum. After preparing these, it has been so much easier for me to turn the conversation to the gospel without being awkward because my testimony or the Bible story goes right along with what we were talking about in our conversation. It has been one of the best things I have done in order to bridge almost every conversation to the gospel, and I was able to use it on this visit as well.
Will you please pray for Jean to turn her life over to the Lord?
