The island outreach…it’s kind of a big deal! It’s so cool to see the body of Christ work together to pull off an event like this. We had Turkish speakers and volunteers straight off a plane from America doing henna. We had several ethnicities involved. We had people using their people management skills, people using their art skills, people sharing and praying with people, and people using their administrative skills. What fun to be a part of this unique opportunity in our context! And, over 400 people heard the good news, 365 of those will be walking around with the gospel on their hand all week! Praise the Lord!
My favorite interaction on Sunday was the second woman of the day. She is a Kurdish woman, and it was very obvious because she had a Kurdish name. We’ll call her Dawn. The island is quite far from where I live in the city, but it turns out that Dawn and I live in the same area! She is young and has read some of the New Testament, but put it aside when she started college. We exchanged phone numbers and she even seemed interested in visiting a fellowship that is in our area together. Please pray for Dawn!
One young woman was a medical technician who uses her hands a lot in her job. She told me she was going to tell all the doctors she works with the story on her hand.
One young woman took a picture on her phone of the story she heard. Please pray she will read it over and over again and that it would sink deep into her heart.
One young woman took a New Testament because she knew her uncle wanted to read it. Please pray for her and her uncle!
Please pray for those with henna on their hands, that the gospel would reproduce itself exponentially and that it would bear lasting fruit.
Pray that fellowships around the city would be flooded in the coming weeks by those who heard, and that they would see live, authentic faith.
Thank you, thank you! We so appreciate your partnership in prayer. Lord, have mercy!
