There are many small villages along the European border that have been taking in refugees and housing them in their wedding salons. As we have been serving the refugees, we have had local believers with us who have been sharing the gospel with the locals in the villages.
There is so much confusion among the refugees about what is happening. They sold everything to get to the border because they were told it is open, and when they cross, the government is picking them up, taking everything they have, and sending them back across the border. Many people are now stuck at the border with nothing.
The reality is that most of these people will remain in the countries they started the year in, so we are planning long-term to see a lot of people returning to their previous locations in very vulnerable positions. We are trying to get contact information from the people that we are meeting, so that if they end up back here, we can follow up with them.
Many of these refugees are Kurds who need food, clothes, other basic necessities, and most of all – the gospel. Will you pray for God’s grace and provision in the refugee crisis?
