I shared the story of Ruth with a young woman and her mother and grandmother. We discussed how God took Ruth out of the depths of despair and had her redeemed by a relative of her mother-in-law. I paralleled it with how Christ did the same for me and took me out of the depths of fear and redeemed me into a life of peace and freedom.
I was not able to give a call to respond because the mother began sharing her own story, but when my local Christian friend and I prayed, my friend prayed the gospel and prayed for them to respond to God’s gift. I loved how she tied it into her prayer since we did not have a chance to directly call them to believe. It was a great reminder of how we can use even our prayers to call people to respond.
