Recently, I needed to take our new teammates to get health insurance for their residence permits, so we put our masks on and headed out. Within a minute of walking into the office, the agent (Ernie*) asked me if I was a Jehovah’s Witness. He showed me how he had been reading their book and found it pretty illogical (praise the Lord!). This turned into a gospel conversation, and I was able to follow up a bit throughout our time there. The best part of this story, though, was that I was able to run back to the apartment for a New Testament and a copy of What Is the Gospel?, giving both to this man.
The next week, we had to return to get copies made. After a minute, he said to me, “I’ve been reading the book you gave me. It is way more logical and applicable to real life.” He continued, “The line I love the most (from What Is the Gospel?) is that ‘We didn’t love God first but he loved us first and came to get us.'”
Will you please pray that Ernie would keep reading the New Testament and What Is the Gospel? and that I could go back and see him soon?
