Recently, a local brother set up a Zoom call with guys interested in learning about Christianity. He came into contact with some of them through work, another one through school, and he met one man via a request for a New Testament from our online outreach ministry. Honestly, I was surprised anyone would say yes to a Zoom call with people whom they had only spoken to over the phone. A teammate and I also joined the call.
One man, Onder*, was working in his taxi but stayed on the call for over an hour. The gospel was proclaimed in various forms, Scripture passages were read, and we were able to answer some of their questions. The man who previously requested a New Testament has seen the Jesus Film, and he said the quote that stuck with him was when Jesus said from the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” While he did not know if this was true, he said for any human to think of these words is amazing, even if fabricated. We were able to read Luke 24 with him and proclaim that those words are true.
